ok people. So I've never been to D*C before and I just got a little book in the mail which is leaving me more confused than ever.

How do you know when the panels are? Is there a schedule? When do they post it? Where do the panels take place? I will have Keely with me and she will barely be on two feet (hopefully she will be) so I'm wondering how much walking there is.

I signed up for a photo op for Keely and her friend but have no idea how all this works.

Anybody? Hello?

any information would be helpful...

I know we wanna do BSG and there's a Wheel of Time one we're doing as well. She loves Vampire Diaries but we will have to see. Also, fangirl hang out time????

Yay! So glad you are coming and I can't wait to meet you and Keely!

There is alot of walking and standing in line waiting for panels, however when you get your badge on the first day ask the person where you can get the disabled pass. This will allow your group to get special seating and also allow Keely to have a seat while waiting at the front of the line. Check the dragoncon.org website and all the info should be there. Usually for the bigger panels you need to get in line about a hour or two before, depends on the staff working the room and how early they allow you to line up. For the BSG panels I think we were in line for about 1 to 1.5 hrs before. The panels take place spread out over 4 hotels. Most of the major ones between the Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton which are all connected by walkways.

The schedule of panels usually come out like early to mid August online but you will get a booklet with the schedule when you get your badge. Things do change so daily they put out a "daily dragon" which lists all the changes but the best thing is now the invention of the iphone app (if you guys have those) where everything is updated online and you can sort/save all the panels and make your own schedule.

Photo ops I believe are in the basement of the Marriott, if you pre ordered and they gave you time just head down there then and go for it.

Other than that, its alot of wandering about and hanging with the fangirls.

If you have any other questions, let me know!

The booklet you just got is the annual report-- everyone who buys a current year's membership gets the report from the previous year. The schedule usually comes out in the week immediately prior to Con, but as Susan mentioned, it's subject to change and the apps are handier, though the kind folks at the Daily Dragon usually make a mass schedule available for electronic download in a few different formats.

The Disability Services table that Susan mentioned is located in the Sheraton, along with Registration itself-- I think there are signs up to it and it should be easy to find. They have a tag on the D*C LJ comm and a wiki page, which has info about navigating the Con, scooter rentals, etc, and Disability Services would, I'm sure, be glad to answer any questions you have prior to Con-- there's a forum on the wiki page with space for questions, plus contact info, and you can always post questions on the main dragoncon comm, which I'd recommend watching, because you learn a lot of useful info just from other folks' posts.

Hooray, Dragon*Con! :D

I have no real advice, just ***YAY****!! Excited to meet you and the girls.

There's more waiting for panels than anything else at D*C. And I'm sure disability services will be most helpful with that!

I know that aside from BSG, the only other show/cast I'm really excited for is Vampire Diaries and maybe True Blood. So I'll probably hit those panels! Rachelmack's a big TVD fan too.
